Our Philosophy

A positive counseling experience is built with trust, kindness, and confidentiality. At Illuminate Wellness there is no judgment. We pride ourselves in offering an open and accepting environment. Counseling services here promote individuality and freedom to express oneself openly. We genuinely want to help others, and our goal is to bring hope and wellness to our clients. 

In addition to providing a wide range of counseling services, the most prominent forms used at Illuminate Wellness 

are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) , 

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy, 

and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).


Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, talk therapy that promotes positive thinking. It is helpful in learning positive coping skills to better handle negative emotions. This particular therapy is used to address many mental health conditions including, but not limited to, depression, PTSD, and anxiety. 


Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a type of evidence-based talk therapy that focuses on helping manage intense emotions, improve relationships and reduce self-destructive behaviors.


 Solution Focused Therapy (SFT) is a goal-oriented from of talk therapy that focuses on the present and future to emphasize positive change and future oriented goals. 


Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a form of therapy that helps reduce emotional intensity associated with trauma and promotes healing.

Caitlyn Connors graduated from Medaille College with an advanced certification in Mental Health Counseling and is dedicated to creating a therapeutic environment where clients feel genuinely seen, heard, and valued. She prides herself on being open, present, and welcoming, striving to provide a safe, accepting, and non-judgmental space. With years of experience, Caitlyn focuses on helping individuals reconnect with their inner strength and find the courage to heal from within. Her passion lies in guiding clients to discover and utilize the tools necessary to overcome and manage their presenting concerns effectively. Caitlyn’s main goal is to support you in reclaiming your power, strength, and sense of self, especially during challenging times. She looks forward to meeting you and is honored to assist you on your journey to emotional well-being and personal growth. 

Stephanie Grden, LMHC

Stephanie Grden graduated from St. Bonaventure University with her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She has several years of experience working with adults, adolescents, and families by facilitating individual and group therapy sessions. She supports individuals in navigating their issues by operating from a person-centered and trauma-informed lens. She is skilled in helping individuals achieve their goals through utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and dialectical behavioral therapy. Stephanie’s specialty areas currently include treating anxiety/panic symptoms, depression, mood disorders, and trauma. Stephanie is passionate about empowering individuals to discover ways they are able to live their best lives.   

Shaye Cline, LMSW

Shaye Cline is a Licensed Master Social Worker with experience treating adolescents and young adults with mental illnesses. She earned her BSW from SUNY Fredonia and her MSW from the University at Buffalo through an Advanced Standing program. With experience addressing anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and adjustment concerns, Shaye utilizes an integrative approach, incorporating CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused, Mindfulness, Trauma-Informed, and other therapies. She believes in creating a safe, welcoming space where individuals feel empowered to shape their therapeutic journey. Her flexible, personalized treatment model is tailored to each person’s unique needs and circumstances, helping them navigate their mental health challenges effectively.

Janelle Comstock, LCSW

Janelle Comstock, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who works with clients to help them work through challenges and reach their full potential. She uses a strength-based perspective and would love to work with you to sort through the problems you are facing and work toward positive changes in your life. Janelle specifically works with people who have experienced trauma in their life.

She is trained in Progressive Counting (PC), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Anger Management (AM), and is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR). She has specifically worked with survivors of domestic violence.

If you are experiencing stressors which affect areas of your life such as school, work, relationships, or life transitions, and feel ready to work with someone to make a change, then Janelle just may be the therapist you are looking for! You will work together to identify your strengths, goals, and create a plan together. You don’t have to do it alone.
